What is REfocused Mind & Body

The REfocused Mind & Body Program (RMB) is a comprehensive wellness initiative that seamlessly combines physical and mental health, offering a unique approach to fitness. By emphasizing discipline, decision-making, executive functioning, and coping skills, our program encourages mindfulness, community, accountability, support, and authentic healing. Participants in the REfocused Mind & Body Program will achieve their fitness goals and acquire valuable life skills to help them navigate life’s challenges.

Our mission is to forge a comprehensive pathway that unifies mental and physical health, addressing the growing mental health needs of our nation in genuine, authentic, and individualized ways.

We aim to provide psychoeducational groups and tailored support for both adults and youths, emphasizing the importance of fitness alongside mental health care. Drawing upon principles from cognitive-behavioral therapy, exercise psychology, and various therapeutic modalities, our innovative model empowers our community to achieve significant and sustainable positive life changes.

What a group class would look like

Our RMB Managing Stress Small Group program offers a holistic approach to physical and mental well-being through a series of eight interconnected sessions. Participants can expect to explore topics such as defining stress, cognitive behavioral therapy, positive affirmations, deep breathing, grounding exercises, relaxation techniques, self-care, and establishing effective coping strategies. The final session focuses on understanding and managing personal control, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for all attendees.

Facts & Data

The rise in mental health needs in the United States has highlighted the challenges faced by individuals seeking support. These challenges include inadequate education, unequal access to resources, and outdated mental health care systems. In 2019-2020, 20.78% of adults experienced mental illness, with 28.2% unable to receive necessary treatment. Over 1 in 10 US youths suffer from depression. To address this national health crisis, we must create genuine, authentic, and individualized avenues for support by leveraging the fitness community. By intentionally combining mental and physical health, we can develop an innovative, holistic approach to wellness that effectively supports our community.

United by a shared passion for promoting mental and physical well-being, our combined disciplines allow us to utilize a wraparound approach to help our community REfocus, REdefine, and REestablish their sense of overall health through receiving fitness and mental health support simultaneously. We ensure a holistic experience tailored to individual needs.
